Vestal Youth Football League

"YOU can learn more about character on the 2 yard line than anywhere else in life." - Paul Dietzel / LSU

The Vestal Youth Football League was originally founded in 1971 and provides Vestal youth with the opportunity to participate in a travel Football and Cheer program. As a member of the Southern Tier Youth Football League (STYFL), our teams have consistently competed at a high level.

The STYFL has moved from an age registration to a grade level registration for football. The grade your child is entering in September will determine which division they play in.

  • Flag - 1st & 2nd Grade
  • Tackle - 3rd and 4th Grade
  • Tackle - 5th and 6th Grade

All football practices are held at Arnold Park in Vestal, starting the first week of August. Practices are three days per week and typically go from 6 to 8 pm in the summer and transition to 5:30 to 7:30 for September and 5:30 to 7:30 for October. Continuing since the 2016 season, all home football games are held at Dick Hoover Stadium on Sundays.

Cheer will consist of two teams: the first age group 6-8 and the second group 9-12. Practices are typically held at Arnold Park twice per week starting the first week of August and teams perform during football games and at competitions.
